Karl Forester Grass in Trade Gallon
‘Karl Foerster’ is a tough, versatile feather reed grass that flowers two to three weeks earlier than most varieties. Its tall bloom stalks start off as a reddish brown color before changing to a vibrant golden shade in fall. Ideal for borders, erosion control, mass plantings, rain gardens and pond-side planting, it creates a bold vertical effect in any setting. Its flower stalks attract songbirds and make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements.
- Best grown in USDA hardiness zones 5-9
- Mature size for foliage is 2 to 3-feet tall and 2-feet wide with bloom stalks reaching 5 to 6-feet tall
- Bloom stalks appear in late spring and persist through fall
