But after working at a home decor company for the past 4+ years, I kind of get it now.

I've also discovered another unexpected benefit: it helps my budget. Christmas is expensive enough as it is. Spreading purchases out over a few months feels much more manageable than trying to buy everything in November and December. Somehow spending a little now makes the holiday season feel less overwhelming later.
