10 Halloween Decor Finds That Are Actually on My Wishlist

Working for a home decor company can be dangerous for the budget... especially around holidays like Halloween.

These 10 products are TRULY on my (and my kids’) Halloween wishlist. They’re unique, fun, affordable and a little different from the Halloween decor I tend to see everywhere else. Unfortunately, I do not have the budget (or the storage space) to buy them ALL.

Some are big statement pieces I’d love to put on our front porch, while others are smaller things I’d work into shelves and spaces around the house. I’m also a sucker for seasonal decor that can be flipped around, repurposed or used beyond Halloween, so you’ll notice quite a few of those made my list too.

So, if money and storage space weren’t an issue, here are the 10 Halloween decorations I’d be adding to my cart.

• Potion bottles that double as candle holders

1. Mr. Skeleton’s GINORMOUS Skull with Top Hat Statement Piece

Okay, GINORMOUS is not an exaggeration with this one.

Mr. Skeleton is about 24 inches across and 25.5 inches tall. This is not a little candy bowl you casually set on an end table. He's basically a Halloween decoration all on his own.

I haven't seen anything quite like him anywhere else, which is probably why I keep coming back to him. I also love that he's not just decorative. You can fill that giant skull with candy for trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, use it as a planter or just let him hang out on the porch looking ridiculous in the best possible way.

I'd probably put him near our front door in a planter surrounded by pumpkins and lanterns, then fill him with candy on Halloween night.

My kids would LOVE him!

 

 

 

2. Grand Sculptural Metal Ghost Statue with Bowl

I had my eye on the smaller Antique Distressed Gold Finish Standing Ghost with Bowl pretty much as soon as he came out last year.

So when our designers decided to make a GIANT version, I was very excited.

The new guy stands 35.5 inches tall, and I love that they kept that same distressed antique-gold finish. He has those big cutout eyes that are cute during the day, but you could put a light behind them at night and make them glow.

His bowl is detachable too, which gives you quite a few options for styling him. Fill it with mini pumpkins, candy, florals or something completely different.

Honestly, though, it's mostly his face. He's just so cute.

3. Hand-Cut Metal Halloween Bells, Set of 3, Choose Your Style

I'm cheating a little with this one because I actually DO own the bat version and... I love them.

They're bigger than you expect, and I really like the aged finish on them. They don't feel like super-theme-y Halloween decorations, which is probably why they work so well with the rest of my decor.

One of my favorite things about them is actually something really simple: you can turn them around.

The Halloween cutouts disappear and suddenly they're just cool metal bells. I've used mine for Halloween, but I could easily work them into everyday fall decor or even Christmas.

If I can leave something out longer than one holiday, I'm much more likely to justify buying it, and it's easier to convince my husband too.

4. Vintage-Inspired Double-Sided Halloween Framed Art, Set of 5

I find these SO unique and fun.

You get five different framed pieces, and each one is double-sided. On one side you have these sweet, vintage-inspired woodland animals. Flip them around and suddenly those same animals have taken a much spookier turn.

It's basically cute woodland art by day and creepy Halloween art by night.

I also like that you don't have to hang them. They have easel-style backs, so you can prop them on a mantel, bookshelf, console or anywhere you need a little Halloween moment.

I'd probably scatter mine throughout a bookshelf with old books, brass candlesticks and little pumpkins rather than putting all five together.

5. Heritage Broomstick Snack Stand & Chalkboard Sign

I mean...how can you not love this?

It's a 37-inch-tall broomstick that holds a snack bowl AND has a chalkboard sign.

We've styled this one with Halloween-themed food before, and it's ridiculously cute filled with snacks for a Halloween party or movie night. I could also see the kids having fun changing what's written on the chalkboard.

But I think I'd actually use it even more as a welcome sign in our entryway.

Put Happy Halloween, The Witch Is In, Trick or Treat or whatever the kids decide to write that day on the chalkboard and let it sit by the door.

It's one of those decorations that just makes Halloween a little more fun.

6. Interchange-a-glow Series: Jack-O-Lantern Solar Light Pillars

Our Interchange-a-glow collection is such a cool concept.

These iron pillars stand about 36.5 inches tall and are solar-powered, so there aren't extension cords running all over your porch or yard. But the best part is that the decorative panels can be swapped out.

For Halloween, the jack-o'-lantern panels create glowing pumpkin patterns around the pillars at night. Then, as we create new panels for other seasons, you can swap them in without replacing the entire lantern.

I've seen these lit up at night, and they're SO cool.

I'd love a pair on either side of our front steps with pumpkins scattered around them.

7. Ghost Bookends Halloween Shelf Decor, Set of 2

These are just too fun.

They're 8 inches tall, made from solid resin and substantial enough to actually hold books, which gives me another excuse to say they're functional and therefore completely reasonable to buy.

Right?

But once again, it's the finish that gets me. I love Halloween decor that looks a little old, collected and imperfect rather than super shiny and new.

I'd put these on a bookshelf with a few old hardcover books, a brass candlestick and maybe a tiny pumpkin tucked in somewhere.

They're Halloween-y without screaming Halloween.

8. Estate Skull Topiary with Urn

This might be one of the pieces I want the MOST.

The whole topiary stands 26.5 inches tall, so it's a really good size for a porch or entryway. You've got the big urn on the bottom, the skull topiary above it and that little crow perched on top.

I immediately envision it sitting on our front steps surrounded by pumpkins.

Or more skulls.

It really depends on whether I'm decorating the porch or letting my kids decorate the porch.

I like that it's big enough to make an impact without needing a ton of other decorations around it. Although, knowing me, I'd still add a ton of pumpkins.

9. Estate Stone Gourd Jack-o-Lanterns, Set of Two

LOOK AT THEIR FACES.

These guys make me laugh every time I see them. They're just goofy enough to be cute without feeling too cartoonish, and I really like the aged stone-like finish.

You can add lights inside and make their faces glow at night, which obviously makes them even better.

But there's another reason these made my wishlist.

Turn them around.

No more jack-o'-lantern faces. Now they're just really cool textured gourds.

I'd put them out with my fall decor in September, turn those goofy little faces forward for Halloween, then flip them around again and keep them out through Thanksgiving.

Three months of decorating from one set? That's the kind of Halloween math I can get behind.

10. Detailed Potion Bottle Candle Holders, Set of 3

I feel like potion bottles are one of those Halloween decorations that can go really cute or really cheesy.

These are the good kind.

They're made from substantial resin and come as a set of three different designs, with the tallest measuring about 9.5 inches. I love all the little details that make them look like old apothecary bottles.

But they're also candle holders.

How fun is that?

I'd group all three together on a mantel or console with taper candles, old books and maybe some vintage artwork. They'd also be really easy to separate and work into different little Halloween vignettes around the house.

So...Which Ones Am I Actually Buying?

That's the problem.

My kids would probably vote for Mr. Skeleton or the giant gold ghost. I keep coming back to the skull topiary for our front steps. And I can make a VERY convincing argument for the gourds and light pillars because they can be used beyond Halloween.

See? This is how I get myself into trouble.

But that's also what I love about Halloween decorating. I don't think your house has to be covered from floor to ceiling in Halloween decor. A few really fun, unique pieces mixed in with pumpkins, fall stems, vintage finds and things you already own can completely change a space.
