In our family, food is part of the fun of every holiday.
Whenever we get together, you can pretty much count on the women in our family showing up with something festive. Someone brings a cute appetizer, someone has a themed dessert, and someone inevitably arrives with a snack that makes the rest of us wonder, Why didn’t I think of that?
Well, this Halloween, I think I might finally have them beat.
Between our Timeworn Wood & Metal Broomstick Snack Stand and these ridiculously fun Halloween treats, I’m feeling pretty good about my contribution to the family gathering this year.
And the best part? None of these ideas are complicated. They use simple ingredients, come together quickly, and look so cute piled into the broomstick snack holder.
A huge thank you to @frenchie_cozy_corner for the inspiration and these fun ideas!
1. Hot Dog Mummies
These little guys might be the easiest way to turn an ordinary hot dog into something completely Halloween-worthy.
What you'll need:
-
Hot dogs
-
Pillsbury refrigerated dough
-
Candy eyes
Start by cutting your dough into thin strips. Wrap the strips around each hot dog, leaving a small opening near the top for the mummy’s face.
Bake according to the dough package directions until the wrapping is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
Once they’ve cooled slightly, add two candy eyes to each mummy.
That’s it! A simple party food suddenly looks like it belongs at a Halloween feast.
Styling tip: Stand or layer your mummy hot dogs inside the Timeworn Wood & Metal Broomstick Snack Stand so all those little faces are peeking out.

2. Bat-Shaped French Fries
French fries are already a crowd favorite. Make them look like tiny bats and suddenly they’re the star of the Halloween table.
What you'll need:
-
Potatoes
-
Bat-shaped cookie cutter
-
Oil and your favorite seasonings
Slice your potatoes into rounds at whatever thickness you prefer for your fries. Just make sure they're thick enough to hold their shape.
Use a small bat-shaped cookie cutter to cut a bat from each potato slice.
Lightly coat the bats with oil, season them, and bake until they're golden and crispy. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your potatoes, so keep an eye on them as they bake.
Pile them into your broomstick holder and serve with ketchup, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.
They're a little spooky, a little unexpected, and so much more fun than regular fries.

3. Jack-O'-Lantern Cheeseburgers
This one is proof that you don't need an elaborate recipe to make your Halloween dinner feel festive.
What you'll need:
-
Burger patties
-
Hamburger buns
-
Sliced cheese
-
Jack-o'-lantern face cookie cutter
Cook your burgers on the grill as you normally would.
While they're cooking, use a jack-o'-lantern face cookie cutter to cut the eyes, nose, and mouth from your cheese slices.
When the burgers are almost finished, place a cheese slice on top of each patty and let it melt just enough to soften while keeping that jack-o'-lantern face visible.
Add the burgers to their buns, then arrange them in your Timeworn Wood & Metal Broomstick Snack Stand for a Halloween dinner that looks like you put in way more effort than you actually did.

A Halloween Spread Made for Sharing
I love holiday ideas that look impressive but don't require spending an entire day in the kitchen. These are exactly that.
Hot dog mummies, bat-shaped fries, and jack-o'-lantern cheeseburgers take foods everyone already loves and give them just enough Halloween magic to make the table feel special.
And displayed in the Timeworn Wood & Metal Broomstick Snack Stand? I think I may officially be bringing my A-game to this year's family gathering.
Now the only question is whether I share these ideas with the other women in my family beforehand... or just show up and surprise them.
