Handmade in Puebla, Mexico, these TWO Puebla Bowls requires years to create due to its natural materials and high quality handmade craftsmanship!
These Puebla Bowls are Talvera pottery, known for their bright colors and unique, design motifs. Artisans make Talavera pottery from raw materials found only in the Puebla region in Mexico. Talavera comes from the rich black and white volcanic soils of Puebla, Mexico, which is rich in tradition and the technique of hand-forming the pottery. The people of Puebla harvest volcanic soil from active volcanos in the Puebla region and produce different clays that they combine together to mold authentic Talavera pottery.
These bowls are a true work of art! Every piece of authentic Talavera pottery takes months to make from start to finish. Artists mold the clay by hand, fire it in a kiln heated to 800 degrees Celcius, handpaint it with pigments that come from natural minerals native to the surrounding region, add a thick tin glaze, and end with a final firing process to make it extremely durable.
These bowls are handmade and handpainted, reflecting the fine artistry of the skilled artisan. Due to being handmade, no two are alike! Each one is truly unique and truly your own! Add these TWO special, one-of-a-kind bowls to your collection of dinnerware to be a part of your favorite moments around the table.
