The people of Puebla harvest volcanic soil from active volcanos in the Puebla region and produce different clays that they combine together to mold authentic Talavera pottery.

These bowls are a true work of art! Every piece of authentic Talavera pottery takes months to make from start to finish. Artists mold the clay by hand, fire it in a kiln heated to 800 degrees Celcius, handpaint it with pigments that come from natural minerals native to the surrounding region, add a thick tin glaze, and end with a final firing process to make it extremely durable.
