Pumpkin Patch Dirt Cake

Pumpkin Patch Dirt Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of cream cheese (8 oz.), softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • ⅓ cup peanut butter
  • 2 small packages instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 container of Cool Whip (8 oz.)
  • 3 package of Oreo cookies (20 oz.), crushed
  • 1 package candy pumpkins
  • 1 container buttercream frosting
  • ½ bag of pretzel sticks

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and peanut butter until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk for about 3 minutes until thickened.
  3. Fold in the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Fold in the Cool Whip.
  5. If using these Corrugated Metal Tray Risers, we added a layer of cardboard wrapped from the packaging in foil, topped with parchment paper—making cleanup a breeze while keeping the risers safe from spills..
  6. In a pan or tray, layer the dessert:
    1. Start with 1-½ package of the crushed Oreos on the bottom
    2. Spoon in the cream mixture
    3. Add another 1-½ packages of crushed Oreos
  7. Decorate with Halloween candy — candy pumpkins sitting on top, gummy worms peeking out of the “dirt,” or even a few candy eyeballs for extra fun! We also made a fence using pretzel sticks.
  8. Chill in the fridge until you're ready to serve.

Tips & Tricks for Maximum Spookiness:

  • Serve in these Corrugated Metal Tray Risers to create a mini pumpkin patch or graveyard dessert perfect for parties. We nested the smaller one in the larger one to make a beautiful dessert center piece. We added moss, fall foliage, and some decorative pumpkins to give it that extra special fall feel.
  • Add headstones or plastic spiders for an extra creep factor.
  • Leave out the peanut butter if there are allergy concerns or you're just not a peanut butter fan.
