At Decor Steals, we believe in the power of kindness. It’s not just about the beautiful decor that fills your home; it’s about the love, compassion, and community that make a house a home. That’s why we launched the #DSKind Campaign—an initiative designed to foster a culture of compassion and generosity within our company and the wider Decor Steals family.
What is the DSKind Campaign?
The Decor Steals Kind Campaign is our heartfelt way of encouraging acts of kindness, big and small. Whether it’s lifting someone’s spirits with a thoughtful gesture or giving back to those in need, we’re committed to making a difference. At Decor Steals, we believe that small acts of kindness can spark significant, positive change. This campaign embodies that belief, and we’re thrilled to have our community join us on this journey.
The Kindness Giveaway: A Gift of Gratitude
In December, we ran our first-ever DSKind Giveaway on Instagram and Facebook. We invited our followers to nominate an account they love and share why they adore them. By nominating someone, they entered for a chance to win a 2024 Gift of Gifts Steal It Box and the opportunity to choose an organization for Decor Steals to donate to. But that’s not all—the nominated person also received a surprise gift from us. It’s kindness that keeps on giving!
Meet the Winners
Instagram Winner: Jamie Corpus (@jcorpus.pix)
Jamie nominated Suzanne Gwynn (@suzanne.gwyn), sharing a heartfelt reason for why Suzanne inspires her. As part of her win, Jamie chose @ladybug.house to receive a donation from Decor Steals. Ladybug House will be a haven for children with serious or complex medical conditions and their families, offering holistic care and a home-like environment once it is built. As Seattle's first free-standing pediatric palliative care home, it will provide compassionate support to children, adolescents, and young adults in need. With over 91% of U.S. counties lacking such respite care, Ladybug House will serve as a vital resource for families seeking comfort, care, and a sense of home during difficult times. Our donation will support their caregiver cafeteria program, ensuring those providing care also receive nourishment and support.
Honorable Mention: Susan Bell (@bella_lifestyles_)
Though we originally planned for just one Instagram winner, Susan Bell’s kindness stood out. She nominated an incredible 11 accounts, including Vidya Singh (@home_by_flareonesix), spreading love far and wide. Susan reminded us that kindness has a ripple effect, and we’re so grateful for her generous spirit.
Facebook Winner: Lori Ann
Lori Ann’s nomination of @theironvictorian came with a touching request to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This organization is dedicated to advancing cures and prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases. Their mission—to ensure no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or ability to pay—aligns deeply with our commitment to spreading kindness.
The Impact of Kindness
Through the DSKind Giveaway, we’ve been reminded of the immense power of community. Each nomination, each comment, and each act of kindness created a ripple of positivity. The organizations our winners selected—@ladybug.house and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—are testaments to the good that can come from supporting causes close to our hearts.
Ladybug House and St. Jude’s are changing lives every day, and we’re honored to contribute to their missions. Ladybug House offers comfort and care to families in their most vulnerable moments, while St. Jude’s ensures that children facing life-threatening illnesses receive the treatment and support they need.
Let’s Keep the Kindness Going
The December DSKind Giveaway may have ended, but our journey of kindness is just beginning. We hope this initiative inspires you to find ways to spread kindness in your own life. Whether it’s a simple word of encouragement or a thoughtful gesture, every act matters. Together, we can create a more compassionate world, one small act at a time.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the DSKind Giveaway. Your stories of love and gratitude touched our hearts and reminded us why we started this campaign. Let’s carry this spirit of kindness into the new year and beyond. After all, kindness is the greatest gift we can give—and it’s one that keeps on giving.
Kathleen
I love your story and your Companies compassion for Children in need of a comfortable life as they have to endure their medical treatments.
Keep up the wonderful work. I plan on contributing to the Goodwill this week. And I love the Salvation Army. I am blessed now, but when I was eight years old, my parents separated and we had nothing my Mom had five children and the Salvation Army delivered a Christmas meal and presents for the children. I always contribute to them for their kindness. Bless you❣️
